Physiotherapy

The main goals of physiotherapy include management, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries sustained during physical activity. Our sports physiotherapists will create an individualized treatment plan to help you return to your activities, while minimizing the risk of re-injury. We offer our patients personalized exercise programs designed to improve their strength, function and range of motion to maximize healing from injury and enhance their performance.

Hyaluronic Acid Injections

Hyaluronic acid is a lubricating substance that is naturally produced by cartilage cells in the body’s joints. Hyaluronic acid injection treatment can be used to lubricate and reduce friction in the affected joint, reducing pain and inflammation arising due to sports injuries and improving joint function. This type of injection is often used to treat knee pain related to early osteoarthritis.

• Platelet Rich Plasma Injections (PRP Injections)

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is an innovative, FDA-approved treatment that can be used to enhance and speed up healing from various types of sports injuries. This procedure works by using the natural healing properties of platelets (a type of blood cell) to repair damaged tissue.

PRP treatment involves injections of the patient’s own concentrated platelets to speed up repair of injured tissues such as ligaments, muscles and tendons. As part of the procedure, the health practitioner will take a sample of the patient’s blood and centrifuge it to concentrate the platelets, which will then be injected into specific locations to treat damaged tissues.

Specifically, PRP injections can be used to treat knee ligament and meniscus tears, as well as knee tendinopathies and osteoarthritis.
